Today was another trying day in Guatemala and Dallas, Texas. This afternoon while relaxing by the pool our team discovered that a tropical storm had hit Guatemala today. This news altered our plans. The plan is now to leave on Wednesday, Lord willing, for Guatemala. So, until then we are going to go to church tomorrow and then do ministry opportunities in Dallas.
Today as I had time to just sit and think about the situation at hand, God was so sweet to remind me of
1 Peter 4:12-13 "Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal among you, which comes upon you for your testing, as though some strange ting were happening to you; but to the degree that you share the sufferings of Christ, keep on rejoicing, so that also at the revelation of His glory you may rejoice with exultation."
Peter reminds us that there is an attitude that is expected of we christians when we experience trials and suffering. We should expect it, rejoice in it, evaluate its cause and entrust it to God.
I want you to know that I am very thankful for the trial God has placed before us and very confident in His perfect sovereign will. Thank you for all of your prayers. They are very appreciated and I cannot wait to share with you how the Lord stretches and grows me over the next few days and the next month.
