it's here!

Oh WOW! It’s finally here. Tomorrow I leave home to spend the next month loving on God’s beautiful treasures in Guatemala. I am anxious and excited and nervous and probably a million other emotions. I cannot wait to share with you everything the Lord teaches me!

I don’t know how much I will be able to use the internet while in Guatemala so here is my plan... I am going to keep a journal. If I am able to have access to the internet, I will post and let you know where I am and maybe what I am doing. Then when I return home I will blog my journals.

Here are some things that you can pray for:
-safe travels: I am traveling by myself to Dallas tomorrow and then to Guatemala on Friday.
-that my nerves would calm and my anxiousness would leave me
-that I would be able to use the Spanish I learned this year and I would pick up the language quickly
-that God would give me the wisdom to know how to react to the sad situations I will face
-that the nerves I have about bonding with my team would escape me
-that the boast of my heart would be in Christ and Christ ALONE!!!!!

I will leave you with a little something Spanish.

Liz.. you are going to love your time in Guatemala and I know the Lord will use you in ways you can not even imagine. The people of Guatemala are so precious and the children are near and dear to my heart. Those I have met have suffered so much yet they have a joy inside that is amazing to see and they are so willing to hear of the Lord. I pray that you will encounter those same experiences in your time there and that the Lord will bless you through your efforts. Soak it all in- there is nothing that will fill you with more joy in the Lord than to hear children and adults worship in Spanish- you will love it! The Lord has prepared you- walk in confidence in His love for you and His direction in your life. God Bless!

Hey Mary Elizabeth, it was so wonderful to get the chance to meet you today. I hope you get a good night sleep and have a safe trip tomorrow. You and all the interns will be in my prayers. Love your Kari Jobe video post btw. I went to Gateway for a few years, so I've been listening to her beautiful voice for a while. Also love your blog, I will definitely be following your trip :)
